Surreal video posting

•December 1, 2008 • Leave a Comment

One of our wonderful audience members submitted a film for us to post here as a comment, and I just want to make sure it gets front page viewing.  Just a minor warning… it may be disturbing to some people or not safe for work – (think Un Chien)  …

Oh and if my poster comes back, if you want, please post your name and take credit for your work!  Thanks for coming to the screening and sharing your art with us.

The Door yet to be entered

Thanks everyone for an awesome turnout for our Surrealism on Film screenings.  We had three days of fabulously surreal films and performances.  Melody and I went on to Paula Fayerman’s Noise program on CJSW Radio (90.9) and wonderful discussions about our program and the way that Surrealism presented itself in music of the time (there are a lot of ties between cinema and music and the way they grew).  I am going to make some postings over the next few days of some of the things our audience submitted to us for the draws and also some links to the program guide and the articles we included in it.  I hope we can continue the discussions in this forum and I thank you all once again for your support.

Surrealism on Film

Hi everyone and welcome to the Surrealism on Film blog.  I’d like to promote this space as a place to talk about and participate in the program, so if you would like to make your own postings (and have a wordpress blog) or have some images, poetry or other thoughts that you would like to have posted feel free to drop me an e-mail at info@csif.org.  I’d love to see exquiste corpses, automatic writing and other delightfully surreal games appear on here so please send me stuff!

I won’t repeat what the surrealism program is on here, but if you have questions, please check out the website at www.csif.org/surrealism.

We have tickets available for pre-buy now at the CSIF Offices.  They will go for $8 CSIF members/ students/ seniors and $10 general admission.
Our offices (and the Sofa Cinema) are located at Building J2, 2711 Battleford Ave. SW.  There is a map on the main CSIF website.
